"Ivan." You called out into the empty house.
You closed the door behind you and walked into his cozy house. Odd, there would usually be a trembling Baltic trio in front of you.
You checked upstairs and downstairs but no one was there. You were starting to get worried.
Ivan Braginski, a.k.a. Russia, was a close friend and you knew how lonely he was. It was one of the reasons why you first became his friend, all the way back when you were a new country. Of course it  was like the most cheesiest thing that you fell for your best friend. He was really sweet and gentle to you. He was just like a huge, fluffy teddy bear.
Actually he protected you when you were being attacked by other nations, so you moved in with him.
Eventually they left you alone but you stayed with him. Unlike the others who left him after the collapse of the Soviet union, you stayed with him willingly because you promised him you would never leave him alone. Of course back then you promised like a friend would but now looking back on that promise, it was more like a vow.
You weren't a territory but he was known to be a little bit (a lot) overprotective of you.
"Ivan?" you called again, your voice laced with worry.
You plopped down on the couch. You froze when you heard something crunch. You got up to see that you sat down to see a cream colored paper with Ivan's handwriting on it.

    Dearest (Name,)
I always wanted to tell you something but I'm not sure how. So I've organized a clue hunt. Find me and I'll tell you. The first location is the cafe. My favorite one with the best cookies,
                                                                                          Please don't be mad,
                                                                                                                           Ivan.

"Ivan." you sighed. You didn't waste time. you grabbed your keys and jumped into your car. After five minutes of speeding you finally made it to the little sidewalk cafe.
You walked in. It was pretty empty.
"What's up, girlfriend?" you turned to see Felicks, a.k.a. Poland, dressed up in pink waitress outfit. He was sweeping the floor when he saw you.
"Nothing much. Hey you seen Ivan by any chance?"
"Yeah. Totally. He said to give this to you." He handed you a pink envelope and a box of cookies. "How sweet of him. Good luck (Name.)"
"Thank you?" you went out side and sat down on one of the chairs.

    Privyet (Name,)
I remember you like (favorite type) cookies so I thought you wanted some. I had to leave because Natalia was chasing me. Again. Go to the Library. I know how much you love to read. Go to the plant's section labeled under Science and look for the book, Summer Plants. You'll find your next clue,
                                                                                   You'll understand soon,
                                                                                                                                         Ivan.

You smiled at the note like an idiot.
"Like, better hurry, (Name.)" Felicks said over you shoulder.
"Poland. Were you reading over my shoulder?"
"Maybe~!" he said as he walked away.
You rolled your (e/c) eyes and walked to your car. The library was on the other side of the town. Thirty minutes later you were there. You pulled in front of the old brick building. You had only an hour before the library closed. You ran up the steps and got inside. You walked to the Science section and looked for the boks about plants.
After a while of looking through books about gardening and plants you finally came across Summer Plants. The book was already open to a page about Sunflowers. Tucked between the two pages was a neat yellow envelope. You carefully opened it.

    Dear (Name,)
I love sunflowers. They remind me of you. How soft, warm and beautiful they are. Would you get a order i put in at Toris's flower shop? It would mean so much to me,
                                                                            Your truly,
                                                                                                    Ivan.

You blushed slightly. Oh, Ivan. Always sweet.
"Dearie, the library closes in five minutes." A librarian said. "Do you need to check out a book?"
"No. Just a quick stop. Thank you." You walked across the street to Toris's flower shop. you knew him ever since high school. It was shop that had windows decorated with ad antique design. Inside, every sweet aroma hit you.
"Hello, (Name.) I take it that your here for your order?" Toris said from the counter. Toris, a.k.a. Lithuania, operated a part time flower shop, ever since he came back from Mr. America.
On the counter was a lovely bouquet of Sunflowers and Roses. You picked up the bouquet and held it in your arms. Your finger traced the soft petals.
"Thank you Lithuania. How much?" you reached for your wallet.
"Ivan already paid for you. Good luck, (Name.)" He said before attending to another customer.
You smiled gently at the bouquet in your arms. You pulled out the perfumed card attached to it.

    Hello (Name,)
Surprise. I hope you love it. It's for you. The final clue is back at my house. Go to my back yard and meet me in my garden. I hope to see you soon, my sunflower,
                                                                                     Love,
                                                                                           Ivan.

"Thank you, Ivan." you said. You carefully sat the bouquet carefully on your passenger seat and buckled in. You took off to Ivan house. He lived on the outskirts of town so it took a while till you got there. You had starte your search in the afternoon and now the sun was low in the sky.
You pulled into the drive way to see Ivan's car next to you. You took the box with one hand and the bouquet in another. You walked around to his backyard. He didn't have a fence which made it easier. His back yard was more like a field than a some back yard. His garden was closer to his house.
You found a picnic laid out in front of you . You sat down as you set the flowers and cookies down.
A picnic. How sweet of Ivan. You loved to spend time outside. Especially with him.
You saw a pice of (f/c) under the picnic basket. You pulled it out and smoothed it out. You pulled your (h/c) hair back as you scanned the page.

    (Name,)
I made a picnic just for us. Sorry for making you go around all of town but I needed to time to make this. I waited a while to tell you how I really feel. I hope I'm not to blunt but-

"Ya lyublyu tebya.(I love you.)" someone whispered into your ear. You felt a pair of strong hands wrap around you. You felt your head hit a well built chest. You blushed upon contact.
"Ya tozhe tebya lyublyu.(I love you too.)" you turned in his arms and looked into his purple eyes.
"You promise to never leave me, da?" he smiled childishly.
    "Da." You kissed his nose.
"You missed, podsolnechnik. (sunflower.)" he said.
"Huh?" He leaned in and pressed his lips onto yours. His kiss was so sweet and gentle just like him. You melted into the kiss and kissed him back with equal force. He pulled you onto his lap as you deepened the kiss. You two leaned your foreheads together when you broke the kiss.
    "Thank you, my sunflower."

(Extended Ending)
"I see Mr. Russia finally told Miss (Name.)" Lithuania leaned out of his tree to get a closer look.
"Shhh!" Poland said from behind a bush.
"Aw! How adorable. They have fallen asleep."
"Like, Liet. Your gonna, like totally, blow our cover!" Felciks hushed.
"Say's the person wearing hot pink, da?" Ivan said behind them.
"O-oh! Mr. R-Russia? How-?" Lithuania started.
    "KOLKOLKOLKOL."
